AUGUST, 2017

Happy one year anniversary to our Operations Team!

Join us for this opportunity to delve into the minds of our Kua Body Operations Team! The Kua Body Operations Team manages the daily operations of the Los Altos and Pleasanton studios – from maintaining inventory to ensuring the high quality environment of each space to creating media content.

We spoke with Juliana, Asha and Brian to discuss their favorite parts of working at Kua Body and the most exciting project they have worked on this past year.

Juliana’s Insight on Kua Body Massage

I absolutely love getting massages from the talented and healing massage therapists at Kua Body! It is one of my favorite treats to myself. I have a lot of back and leg muscle tightness from working on the computer daily, and from lifting weights at the gym, and I have found that massage helps in a major way. For now, the Deep Work massage has become a favorite. The therapists are great at listening to my exact needs and customizing pressure for all the areas of my body. I especially love the shoulders and neck part of the massage at the very end. It’s a great way to close the session by bringing the body to its most relaxed state. No wonder some of our clients fall asleep.

I feel reborn and so refreshed after every massage. I come out with a huge smile on my face (like all our clients), and go about my day feeling so relaxed and so positive about life. I notice a difference in how my body feels days after my massage too. I don’t have any back discomfort, which is usually something I deal with regularly. My body is just happier overall. Before working at Kua, I didn’t know much about the benefits of massage on a personal level, but now I know that getting regular massages doesn’t only benefit my physical body, it also calms the mind in a deep way that I couldn’t have imagined. I can’t wait until my next session!

Asha Creates a Social Media Presence

My favorite aspect of Operations has been running the Kua Body blog Body Talk. Interviewing our Kua Body team of therapists is fascinating! Each team member has such a wealth of knowledge, and as someone who loves learning about human biology and the body, I love hearing their stories!

I also love the creative aspect of Social Media at Kua Body. We always have a blast as a team during brainstorming meetings, photoshoots, and special projects. I am so proud of the rich content that our team has implemented this past year.

Asha Shares About Self-Care

Massage at Kua Body is an awesome form of self-care and compliment to my workouts. The therapists are so knowledgable about my body and let me know when I have been pushing my feet, knees or not using enough core strength when running. Kua Body has helped me so much since I started getting regular massages!

Creating healthy meals for my loved ones is also something I find very therapeutic, and I love spending the time to source local ingredients and experiment. Currently I’m obsessed with perfecting my almond flour matcha cookies and my paleo steak salad.

This coming year I am most excited help Kua Body contiue to flourish and scale with the addition of more therapists to our blossoming team!  Now that we have a handle on running the back end of two studios, we are in a great postion to recruit and expand.  I am also very excited for the ways in which we will foster our connections to the communities of Los Altos and Pleasanton through workshops and special events.

Juliana’s Favorite Kua Body Project

I loved our Mother’s Day project!

It was a collaborative project through which we worked together to highlight clients who are mothers, and to overall shine a light on the importance of being a mother today, and how investing time to take care of yourself is just as important.

The highlights included a blog post on KuaBody.me as well as personal stories from individual mother’s shared on our social media channels.

It allowed us to reconnect with our clients on a personal level, and make them feel special, which in itself was very rewarding to us as a company.

In the coming year, I am very excited to see Kua Body grow its two locations, and possibly open a third one. I look forward to continuing with the recruitment process and growing the team of therapists. Maintaining our foundation as a top, massage location in Silicon Valley remains a huge priority, so we plan on connecting even more with our community and building a strong presence the Bay Area.

“Working on a brand that solves a problem is so rewarding!

Brian the Brand Master

Working on a brand that solves a problem is so rewarding!

The Kua Body business model allows the best-of-the-best massage therapists to build and run their own business/brand in a best-of-the-best facility without the overhead, headache or distractions that many business owners face.

Brian’s Favorite Kua Body Massage

My favorite modality for body maintenance is Thai Massage. The slow and deliberate movements forces my body to feel recharged and limber for my fast pace lifestyle.

For mental maintenance, Shiatsu puts me in a state where I “problem solve”. I make my best decisions while being worked-on and always look forward to my Shiatsu sessions.

I believe “emotion comes from motion” – the more I move, the more I feel. With all of the that movement and momentum, I’ve found that having regular bodywork is a form of “maintenance”.
